Greeting to the future

The world is full of persecutions. There are always enough people who want to fight with each other over minor issues, underline what is wrong, even blow it up larger than life and then try to make people believe it.

But just as well as this is the case, it also true that the world is full of people who know that persecution is the way backwards. And who neither make any persecutions up, nor let themselves be caught in them.

At the moment of writing, the Foundation is 'hit' by a persecution. Or is it simply called 'persecuted'? Never mind. The Foundation and its contributors and its board of directors, which this book tells about, have lived a life in which it/we have endeavored to do good. To act for the benefit of people - with foresight, perspective, goodness. To act for the many people in the world, and often for the under privileged, the needy. To act on behalf of a better future. To act altruistically, often in contradiction to what is usual.

For unfortunately what is usual in Denmark is everyone looking out for themselves. It is in any case not usual that people use their personal means to give away and to do good with. It is neither usual that people make their mind up to pool their forces in order to remedy some of the evils of the world and bring benefits for people a thousand kilometers away.

It is not usual - and what is not usual in this native country of H. C. Andersen must be bullied.

Anyone can understand that.

The Ugly Duckling was.

The Foundation has been. Perfectly illegitimately, which we hope every single page in this book radiates just as unambiguously as it comes from both pen and heart. It sounds trivial. But the former board of directors of the Foundation is NOT guilty, neither of fraud nor of fraudulent tax evasion, as the police has charged some of them for, and may indict them for. They have NOT tucked the money away, hid it, used it for themselves or something completely else and even more malignant, and this is clear from both the accounts and the reality which the funds of the Foundation have created - facts, which can be verified by each and every one. The money has been used for the objectives of the Foundation, and granted according to the rules.

Each page of this book bears witness to the truth of this. But the book also says much more, which, when it comes down to it, is much more important. About the good ideas, about the visions, about how things can get better, about mistakes and new experiences, about stops and considerations along the way, about the times when it did not work, about the effort required to solve a number of the questions surrounding people in their every day lives, about the work of realizing it all, about the results, both large and small. This is what has been important with the Foundation's activities. This is what is worth remembering, worth keeping in mind, and worth writing this book about.

A better future cannot be realized through persecutions - it takes real people with real forces, real efforts and real funds. Development and steps forward must necessarily be the genuine article - and cannot amount to anything through systematic lies, fabrications, speculations, figments of the imagination, persecution of a certain group of people - and other inhumane left overs from the cold, but unfortunately so inevitable, fringes of convention.

The Foundation - former, charged, and penniless (the police has confiscated its assets) - and its people welcome the future, and will continue to do their part to realize a better future for people in the world, despite all persecutions. Together with all the many people in the world, who every day and all the time walk the necessary steps to improve the present moment and make the future more rich for all, more possible, more cheerful, and also substantial.
