Pakistan is among the poorest countries in the
world. The population is 130 million inhabitants. Only 36% are
literate.
According to UN education is the single most
powerful weapon against poverty
In Pakistan concretely and extra year of
schooling for an additional 1.000 girls would ultimately prevent
roughly 60 infant deaths.
We are going to make an investigation about the
living condition of people in 10 village. All of us spread over an
area with the 10 villages.
We go out two and two. All of us have the same 10
questions. Our goal is to visit 10 families pr. day in two days.
That mean that we in total will get a very clear picture of the
situation for 100 families.
Put up the questions before you go out.
Day one and two:
Already the first day each group go and invite
the teacher from the village to a seminar on Saturday.
Take pictures of all the families you visit.
Take pictures of the schools, of the water
facilities. the electrical cacilities.
Day three:
On the third day the whole group comes together
and make statistics and a picture of the situation in the 10 village.
The next step is to put up an agenda for the next
five years for how the situation could change.
What would it take to do it. Money? Commitment?
Leadership? Why doesn't it change?
Day four:
The role of the teacher in the struggle
for development. The teacher from the bus group make a course and we
put up 10 ideas for the teachers to carry out.
We make a program for the seminar with 10 local
teachers.
Day five:
We make a seminar together with the 10 teachers -
have discussions of the role of the teachers and make 10 educational
task together with them.
We make a building day and restore a classroom or
dig latrines at one of the schools.
Two of us print out and copy all the new
educational task and give the them to each teacher and put them onto
the DNS home page.
